More Useful Mac Apps : Remote Work Edition
Continuing with the theme of useful Mac apps, this time we look at apps to cope with the remote work during this lockdown period.

Working from Home
The world is faced with a global pandemic and this has resulted in many people practicing self isolation and some organizations to shift to remote work.
While some teams may have practiced remote work before, perhaps not many have done at this scale or just recently made the change. Here are some of my working from home tips to help ease the transition.

Review : Blood and Truth (PSVR)
Blood and Truth from the London Studios who brought us the cool PSVR tech demo London Heist is a short but fun story driven action shoot em up. Here’s my review on how this game brought the experience of being an action star in your living room.

Amazon Fire 7 (2017) Review
Introduction
The Amazon Fire range of tablets have been around for quite some time and while they’re very popular in the States, they’re much rarer in Malaysia and is often found through special groups and retailers. Originally retailing around USD$50 (MYR 206) when it was first released back in May 2017, the price has seen dips to USD$20 during sales. I managed to snag one during from a local retailer for MYR 179 (USD$43). So what exactly is an Amazon Fire 7? In short, it’s Amazon’s entry level 7″ Android tablet which is heavily ad supported (presumably to subsidize its production cost). You’re probably thinking of the adage that cheap things aren’t great and great things aren’t cheap but let’s find out in my review of the Amazon Fire 7 (2017) if it’s still worth that USD50 asking price.

Review : Sprint Vector (PSVR)
Introduction
Sprint Vector(SV), developed by Survio, was an impulse purchase after hearing lots of rave reviews about it. I had to go through a lot of trouble just to get it from the US store. Luckily it was all worth it. From the same studio that brought us Raw Data, Sprint Vector is a completely different genre from their debut title. To describe it would be like a combination of Mario Kart and it’s zany obstacle race course with the gameplay of Mirror’s Edge powered by the Move controllers.

Review : Farpoint (PS VR)
Released back in May 2017, Farpoint, developed by Impulse Gear was one of the first VR first person shooter game on the PS VR to fully utilise the PS VR Aim Controller. While the initial reviews were mixed but one thing was clear, those who used the VR Aim Controller was totally blown by the experience. Read More

State of eCommerce in Southeast Asia 2017
This morning iPrice released their white paper on the state of eCommerce in Southeast Asia based on the data that they’ve collected from their partners around the region. The statistics provided by these reports gives us some pretty interesting insights into consumer behaviour in the past year. Among some of the interesting facts presented by the iPrice team was that despite Vietnam having the highest conversion rate among Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Philippines their payment method of choice was actually Cash on Delivery. This goes to show that sometimes eCommerce platforms are most successful when you cater to the needs of the consumer and the solution can be just as low tech.

Nintendo Labo
Announced earlier this year, the Nintendo Labo has to be one of the quirkier and innovative accessory to be launched for the Nintendo Switch or for any console in recent times. Slated for release in April 2018, Nintendo Labo offers an initial 2 kits which contains a game cartridge, pre-made cardboard cut outs along with other construction tools to assemble a toy dubbed the ‘ToyCon’ that works alongside the JoyCon and Nintendo Switch display that provides an interactive building and learning experience for children. Microsoft Surface Pro (2017) Review Part 2
Following up on my previous post, I’ll share my experience on my daily use with the Surface Pro.
Battery Life
I’ve been using the Surface almost daily for note taking, web browsing and watching videos during my trips. Battery life is actually quite solid with over 50% capacity left after 5 hours of usage. There’s been reported cases where users are able to stretch up to 14 hours of use in certain power saving conditions but it’s safe to say that it should be enough to last a day’s use.
