Continuing with the theme of useful Mac apps, this time we look at apps to cope with the remote work during this lockdown period.

Useful Mac Tips and Tools
I’m starting a series of useful Mac Tips and Tools posts featuring apps and techniques which I find very helpful in everyday use.

Working from Home
The world is faced with a global pandemic and this has resulted in many people practicing self isolation and some organizations to shift to remote work.
While some teams may have practiced remote work before, perhaps not many have done at this scale or just recently made the change. Here are some of my working from home tips to help ease the transition.

LevelUp Play KL 2019 9 November 2019
The past weekend I attended the LevelUp Play event held at the KL Convention Center organized by Level Up KL. So what is Level Up KL ? From their site:
LEVEL UP KL is a biggest game festival in Malaysia organized by Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), with the mandate to spearhead the digital economy in Malaysia. The goal is to create a platform for gamers, public, game developers, corporate and esports to leverage on the biggest entertainment market as key economic growth for the region.

Continuous Performance Reviews
True to the Agile spirit, just as we continuously provide feedback on our products to continuously improve them, we should also conduct continuous performance reviews. Check-ins are a great way to solicit feedback from our team members as it provides a platform for them to chart their own progression and achievements over the course of their career. It also serves as a plan for their personal growth.

Best Coding Practice and Guidelines
The engineering team in our organization was inspired by Robert C Martin’s work on Clean Code and have decided to come up with their own concise version of best coding practice and guidelines.

Review : Blood and Truth (PSVR)

Amazon Fire 7 (2017) Review
Introduction
The Amazon Fire range of tablets have been around for quite some time and while they’re very popular in the States, they’re much rarer in Malaysia and is often found through special groups and retailers. Originally retailing around USD$50 (MYR 206) when it was first released back in May 2017, the price has seen dips to USD$20 during sales. I managed to snag one during from a local retailer for MYR 179 (USD$43). So what exactly is an Amazon Fire 7? In short, it’s Amazon’s entry level 7″ Android tablet which is heavily ad supported (presumably to subsidize its production cost). You’re probably thinking of the adage that cheap things aren’t great and great things aren’t cheap but let’s find out in my review of the Amazon Fire 7 (2017) if it’s still worth that USD50 asking price.

Review : Sprint Vector (PSVR)
Introduction
Sprint Vector(SV), developed by Survio, was an impulse purchase after hearing lots of rave reviews about it. I had to go through a lot of trouble just to get it from the US store. Luckily it was all worth it. From the same studio that brought us Raw Data, Sprint Vector is a completely different genre from their debut title. To describe it would be like a combination of Mario Kart and it’s zany obstacle race course with the gameplay of Mirror’s Edge powered by the Move controllers.
